In 2018, JBS Food Canada partnered with Medicine Hat College (MHC) to launch a new development program, Total Quality Management (TQM), giving team members the opportunity to build their leadership skills while influencing business operations. Divided into four levels, the program gives accepted team members the chance to work their way up from beginner to master status. Each level is a three-day program that is followed by approximately three months of implementation and concluded with presentations. “We are fortunate to have Medicine Hat College’s Brooks campus in our community,” said David Colwell, JBS Food Canada CEO. “Not only does it develop programs like these, but they also provide our team members with other ways to grow, whether it be learning English or working toward a trade that they can use [at our facility]. We look forward to seeing what other opportunities might come out of this.”
In July 2018, 11 JBS Food Canada team members graduated from the first level of the TQM course at the MHC Brooks campus.
